It is possible to save an analysis as a template with its specific attributes (e.g., displays certain data source information in a certain way) that can be reopened in Energy CAP Enterprise either as is or updated dynamically by the application. The attributes saved with the analysis data include the data series names, start dates, and end dates.

  • Tthe analysis template can be saved to the Public folder for access by all users
  • The analysis template can be saved to the database for individual user access only
  • The analysis template can be saved to the computer hard drive as a template file.
  1. Select Analysis | Advanced Scripts.

  2. Create an analysis.

  3. From the File menu, select Save. The Save Analysis window appears.

  4. To allow all users access to the analysis template:

    1. Select the Database check box.

    2. Select the Public folder.

    3. Type a name for the analysis in the Analysis code field.

  5. To save the analysis template to the unique user folder in the database:

    1. Select the Database check box.

    2. Select the user folder.

    3. Type a name for the analysis in the Analysis code field.

  6. To save the analysis template as a file to a computer:

    1. Select the File check box.

    2. In the Analysis code field, type the directory location and file name.

    3. To locate the appropriate directory location, click . The Save As window appears.

      1. In the Save in field, select the directory location for the file.

      2. In the File name field, type a name for the file.

      3. In the Save as type field, select Analysis Template (.apt).

      4. Click Save. The Save As window closes.

  7. After making the selections, click OK. The template is saved.
