Energy charges are typically based upon a cost per unit of usage.
In the Rate Wizard - Feature Selection page, select the Energy charge option.
In the Rate Wizard - Energy Charges page, select the appropriate energy unit from the drop-down list (only existing unit types appear).
If the energy charges are not in blocks, go to step 5.
If the energy charges are in blocks, select the Block charges option. Go to step 6.
In the Rate Wizard - Energy Entry page, enter the cost per unit of energy (non-block charges). All kWh of usage will be charged this amount.
In the Rate Wizard - Energy Block Charges page, enter the cost per unit of energy (block charges) and define the block size and cost per unit per block.
Energy blocks can be thought of as containers of energy (in the billing sense) - you fill the first one then move on.
Using the example above, if an account recorded 10,000 kWh for a given month:
1000 kWh goes to Block 1 at $/kWh
1500 kWh goes to Block 2 at $/kWh
3000 kWh goes to Block 3 at $/kWh
4500 kWh - the remaining usage - goes to Block 4 at $/kWh
